The Jack Henry & Associates Item Processing Center in Lombard, IL has a full-time opportunity available for a Unit Operations Supervisor role. This position requires a keen eye for details, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work independently, as well as function as an integral part of a team. The Unit Operations Supervisor will be part of a small team that will provide direct supervision of 6 - 8 personnel to ensure timely and accurate processing of customer transactions and data.  Responsible for receipt and balancing of incoming files, resolving customer issues, and daily processing for each customer.

As a hands-on supervisor, you will be providing support to your team with the daily back-office processing for several hundred institutions. A successful candidate will be able to work as part of a diverse team that has rotational schedules and demanding timelines.  Experience with item processing in a bank or data center is highly preferred. Candidates must be able to work a flexible rotational schedule which includes a full-time shift between the hours of 11 am to 7:30 pm or when the work is done. 

This role must sit in the Lombard, IL office. No remote work option is available. Travel is rare and anticipated to be less than 5%.


  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in banking production, processing, or item processing. 
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory, management, or leadership experience.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible rotational schedule as indicated above.


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Item processing experience.


  • Provides training and guidance to staff to ensure proper handling of data.
  • Assesses incoming customer requests and assigns to staff as appropriate.
  • Supervises Operations group during a particular shift.
  • Updates data center policies and procedures when new customers are added.
  • Reviews daily shift turnover logs and handles any issues noted.
  • Verifies the completion and accuracy of monthly volumes for customer billing.
  • Provides training and guidance to personnel to ensure proper handling of data.
  • Reviews and audits both incoming and outbound documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to establishment standards.  Ensures discrepancies are corrected.
  • Performs all tasks according to established guidelines in a manner that provides a high level of service.
  • Performs any level of task performed by their subordinates.
