Description & Requirements

Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry; is hiring a Scrum Master to join the Financial Crimes Solutions (FCS) team. The FCS team enables our customers to detect and prevent fraud and money laundering, disrupting the finances of elder abusers, child traffickers, and terrorists. 

The Scrum Master will work with two teams on our next generation solution for financial crimes, not only removing blockers for the team, but also creating management reports and tracking team velocity. This position requires strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, to coordinate with team members and management. The ideal candidate has excellent Excel skills and learn systems easily.

Jack Henry provides strong opportunities for career progression not only within FCS but across the organization as well. This position could grow into a project management or program management role in the future.


This position will be filled to work at the following Jack Henry office locations: Birmingham, AL, Hoover, AL, Allen, TX, Springfield, MO, or Remotely within the U.S.


Expected salary range: $65,000 – $80,000.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 18 months experience working with product, development, or QA teams in a software development lifecycle.  
  • Must have first level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I). 
  • Must have work experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that utilized Scrum principals, practices, and theory. 
  • Must have experience with data visualizations in Excel.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% to attend a JHA meeting, training, and/or professional conferences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Second level Scrum Master certification. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves the Product Owner and Development Team in their pursuit to do everything possible to fulfill customer needs.
  • Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices.  
  • Guides the team on how to get the most of out of self-organization, using self-organization to fill gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Assesses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization, coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable.
  • Responsible for removing impediments to progress and guiding the team to remove impediments.
  • Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
  • Facilitates completion of tasks and goals without using coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks.
  • Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Provides support and education to the Product Owner with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
