Under moderate supervision the Sales Engineer, serves as primary product resource to support field sales department. Responsible for actively driving and managing the application evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for their product responsibility.
This position can be worked remotely throughout the U.S.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Lead contributor to account solution definition and review of customer operations for improving business process opportunities. Performs customer needs assessments and solutions finding sessions.
- Understands and documents, through due diligence efforts, customer requirements, and conveys requirements to Product Management teams.
- Effectively discusses and positions Jack Henry products and solutions by demonstrating an in-depth understanding of company resources, products, functions, features and benefits to both business and technical users.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to prospects and sales executives through an in-depth understanding of banks needs and Jack Henry products and services.
- Works to manage customer expectations, to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Designs and coordinates product presentations based on the customer’s needs and competitive sales environment. Provides insight and guidance to all presenters regarding content, to ensure presentations and messaging are consistent, accurate and customized.
- Assist Sales Executives with customer and sales team communication, product decisions, agenda design and identifying subject matter experts to aid in demonstrations and follow up assistance.
- Work to ensure sales demonstration environments are continually prepared and performing optimally for prospect demonstrations.
- Provides specifications and quotes to prospective clients and responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
- Identifies product capability gaps or functionality limitations to define alternatives using partners, product enhancements, etc.
- Conceptualizes and communicates how company products and services affect opportunities and sales exposure within the organization.
- Participates at user groups, conferences, tradeshows, and other events as required by Sales Management and Product Marketing.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience.
- 40% travel required.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Developing professional expertise. Works on non-complex to moderately complex projects. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.
- Proven success-presenting technology as business solution and selling in complicated sales surroundings with both technical and business buyers.
- Experience working within financial institutions.
- Keen ability to understand and document customer requirements. Strong selling and sales aptitude with ability to manage complex customer interactions.
- Able to prioritize work in multi-tasking environment, managing complex customer interactions in various account situations.
- Able to coordinate meetings, conference calls, strategy sessions and agenda development.
- Able to lead teams and manage technical resources for meeting account needs.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Able to make effective presentations in time-constrained situations.
