This position will assist with regular and special analysis, non-complex to moderately complex analysis, to ensure proper revenue recognition. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using PeopleSoft and Excel on a regular basis, comparing large data sets from multiple systems and researching variances. Ability to work extended hours as business needs dictate.

This position will be filled in a hybrid capacity out of our Lenexa, KS, Springfield, MO or Monett, MO offices.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Records, classifies, and posts details of business transactions in accordance with accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
  • Time management skills, ability to prioritize daily activities for most efficient use of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, work effectively with both employees and management. 
  • Well organized and detail oriented to handle in-depth special projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately apply company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic math, accounting, and finance principles.
  • Ability to work with confidential materials and employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Prepares journal entries and monthly financial statements.
  • Performs balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation to the General Ledger.
  • Compiles various analyses for management review on a periodic basis. Works closely with operations managers to develop pertinent reports and/or analysis that will aid them in making managerial decisions about their line of business.
  • Conducts research projects in specific area of Accounting and responds to all inquiries.
  • Reviews, monitors and resolves reports pertaining to billing, revenue flow and/or expenditures.
  • Assists with the monthly and annual budget and forecast with input from the various department heads and managers.  
  • Collaborates with managers to assist in translating their operational requirements into financial statement formatting.
  • Performs monthly review of P&L reports; may include variance analysis.
  • Works with managers to explain variances.
  • Acts as financial liaison for operations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned. 

What you’ll need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Must have experience with advanced Excel formulas (vlookup / pivot tables).
  • Must be able to work once a month for a couple of days after 5pm cst.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to attend JHA meetings, trainings, and/or professional conferences.

What would be nice for you to have:
  • Must have a strong track record in financial analysis – sales analysis, expense analysis, variance analysis, etc.  
  • Experience working with Revpro. 
  • Good knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 and other accounting principles.
