Under general supervision, this position assists and supports Payment Operations compliance with best practices, and industry standards. Maintains production data for analysis and reports findings to various levels of leadership. Review proposed product, technical and systematic changes and provide an analysis of operational needs.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Monitor electronic and checks payments for timely delivery and payment issues.
· Contact billers to resolve payment issues on behalf of end-users.
· Resolve TRRs (transaction research requests) in queue.
· Manage payees and resolve issues with biller account numbers and biller payment posting issues.
· Monitor and process check returns
· Manages the 3rd party loan / credit cards payment system used for onboarding of financial institutions. (i.e., Credit Pay Pro)
· Monitor the 3rd party payment processing system for address verification, account authorization, eBills (i.e., SmartyStreets, Plaid, Finovera and others)
· Provide payments support to client financial institution CSRs.
· Support payee and payment management for large client conversions.
· Resolve payee and payment issues for biller consolidations
· Deal with all payment exceptions.
· Serve as Payment Operations subject matter expert on various projects.
· Retrieve and analyze data and present reports to management for use in supporting operational and business objectives.
· Evaluates daily, weekly, monthly, etc. production data for trend analysis and recommends process improvements.
· Evaluates internal controls, communications, risk assessments, and maintenance of documentation of policies and procedures in order to adhere to company requirements.
· Develops and maintains an organized, methodical documentation system for communicating, implementing, and managing new and existing Payment Operations data.
· Alerts management of potential issues and makes suggestions for improved processes.
· Proactively leverage the Payrailz platform to enhance the end-user bill payment experience.
· Contribute in a “hands-on” manner to achieve operational excellence and exceed customer expectations.
· Make recommendations for systemic workflow improvements based on real world situations requiring manual actions.
· Interact with billers and partners in support of payment operations.
· May perform other job duties as assigned
What you’ll need to have:
· Minimum of four years of experience in payment operations, payment technology, payee and merchant relations, banking operations, payments processing, or financial research and balancing
What would be nice for you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. Works on moderately complex and diverse projects. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with financial institutions.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to work with little or no instruction on routine work.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
