Description & Requirements

Jack Henry & Associates Item Processing Center has a full-time opportunity available for an Item Processor II reporting to the Data Center Unit Manager. This position requires a keen eye for the details, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work independently as well as function as an integral part of a team. The Item Processor II is part of a team that provides back office processing for financial institutions. This includes keying and balancing bank work, meeting cash letter deadlines, and ensuring all data is verified prior to core processing. 

About the Team:

The Item Processing Center handles all electronic files inbound and outbound to the Federal Reserve Bank and 3rd party correspondent banks.  Item Processing utilizes Jack Henry’s 4sight and Check Image Exchange products in the course of daily operation and integrates with in-house or Jack Henry’s core systems.

This role is only available onsite in Oklahoma City, OK. 

For this role, candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule.  Candidates can expect to start every day at 1:30 PM Central Time, take a 30 minute lunch and be done by 10:00 PM Central Time. Depending on circumstances, candidates may be required to stay until all banks are completed, which could be approximately 10:00 PM - Midnight.  The Exception Item Processing/Outgoing Returns process will start at 1:30 PM until completed, approximately around 4:30/5:00 PM, and then will work on Item Processing duties for the remainder of the shift.  


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 1 year of data entry experience or financial industry experience.

Ability to work a flexible shift position starting at 1:30 PM Central Time until shift is complete.  


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

10-Key experience.

Banking industry experience.

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.  Works on generally routine assignments, occasionally deviating from defined procedures.

High attention to detail.

Able to apply math and reasoning skills.

Able to prioritize work.

Able to update Microsoft Excel and Word documents.

Able to demonstrate strong customer service skills and appropriate phone etiquette.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Reviews data from source documents.

Verifies entries for accuracy and completeness.

Reviews incoming batches in order to balance and correct discrepancies.

Reviews batch documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to establishment standards.

Sends and receives file transmissions if necessary.

Records inbound and outbound items.

Supports other areas of Item Processing as necessary.

Process Exception Item Processing / Outgoing Return item files received from Banks.
