Jack Henry & Associates is looking for a strong addition to our organization that will be responsible for working with our customers IT administrators to provide advanced assistance for monitoring, modifying troubleshooting, creating, and maintaining IBMi systems for their desired acceptable availability, stability and response time. Using product knowledge, this person will provide a high level of service to resolve customer's issue and restore the customer to fully functioning status, while strengthening the customer-JHA relationship.  This role will be responsible to identify and resolve operating system, hardware and application issues.  They will assist other internal support groups with identifying problems and issues with applications installed on various servers. This role will be able to participate in training programs to continuously improve product knowledge and service skills.

This role, in accordance with Service Level Standards (SLS), will provide technical assistance and solutions for system administrators on security questions and problems, auditor vulnerability scans, periodic recovery testing of DR plans, implementations, and installation functionality. This role monitors incoming cases and emails and uses available support tools to assist and/or correct the issue. A main function of this role is to provide System Administration services for customers to implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. This includes but is not limited to installing, configuring and maintaining TCP/IP and networking on Windows/Citrix servers and IBMi Power Systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IBMi (AS400, iSeries) Systems/Network administration.
  • IBMi performance- including Job watcher, iDoctor, collection services, or Journaling analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CL/RPG Programming.
  • Experience using and reading network tools such as Wire shark, Switches, Router and Firewall.
  • Computer Science Degree
  • IBMi certification.
  • MIMIX Certification
  • Experience with MIMIX replication support for IBMi disaster recovery
  • Experience with installing and configuring MIMIX
  • Windows 10/Win 8
  • Citrix/Windows server
  • Microsoft office and instant messenger
  • IBMi system value support, recommendations and implementation
  • IBM hardware installation and troubleshooting of IBM hardware
  • Able to coordinate IBMi hardware break/fix replacement for customer system administrators when necessary.
  • IBM BRMS (Backup Recovery Media Solution)-software setup and troubleshooting for saves and restores on IBMi through BRMS;
  • EMC Data Domain-virtual tape install and support
  • IBMi OS upgrades and PTF’s installation and troubleshooting.
  • SSO/EIM setup and support on IBMi and active directory.
  • Access Client Solutions support and installation.
  • Able to work with JHA customers to accurately assess issues or problems.
  • Experience asking well thought out and detailed questions.
  • Able to carefully listen to the customers response to fully comprehend the need, product issue, and best avenue for resolving the problem.
  • Able to work with over 200 system administrators to support and maintain inhouse IBMi power systems.
  • HMC (Hardware Management Console)-setup and troubleshooting; including LPAR and system setup configuration
  • IBMi performance troubleshooting and recommendations, verification of I/O, memory and processor performance.
  • SSL (Secure Socket Layer)-setup and troubleshooting to encrypt TCP/IP traffic.
  • FTP-troubleshooting and setup of SSH for secure FTP transmission.
  • IBM SKLM/TKLM software that is utilized for IBM tape encryption security—perform install, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Able to troubleshoot, use support tools, identify or recreate customer issues and resolve in a timely manner.
  • Ability to complete assigned projects and tasks in conjunction with daily responsibilities.
  • Able to provide excellent communication and customer interaction skills in accordance with SLS policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts and principles.
  • Experience with printer, profile, device setup and support;
  • Knowledge on Security/Vulnerability-related questions, support and implementation
  • Experience with file transfers functionality, setup and troubleshooting through JHA’s inhouse developed JHMENU Express file transfer program.
  • Able to create and maintain documentation that is provided to customer system administrators.
  • Experience with installing and configuring system migrations to new IBMi hardware.
  • Able to perform system IBMi migrations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Designs and architects IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Designs networks, such as LAN, WAN, Internet and/or data networks.
  • Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of customer and internally-reported system problems.
  • Writes environment security policies.
  • Writes system procedure, policies and guidelines.
  • Participates in on-call 24x7 support rotation.
  • Manages and performs essential functions required for effective system backup and restore testing.
  • Manages and performs periodic recovery testing of DR plans.
  • May assist support groups with applications installed on various servers.
  • Performs limited staff supervision of technical objectives.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions for potential purchase to effect enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Assists less experienced peers. May act as a team lead.
