Description & Requirements
Symitar, the credit union ‘core’ provider within Jack Henry & Associates, is seeking a summer Intern to join the Episys Project Management Office. This team focuses on portfolio planning, Azure DevOps facilitated execution of work streams, defining software development life cycle processes and artifacts in a largely Agile practice.
The Intern-Associate will focus on developing and refining processes and artifacts that guide and are the result software development life cycle in an Agile practice. This includes configuration and management of software development tools such as Azure DevOps, SharePoint and wiki sites, and Microsoft Teams.
This experience will add to the Intern’s curriculum vitae by learning and managing the supporting processes associated with software development.
The position can be located in the Allen, TX area or San Diego, CA area; and while some in office attendance will be required, the opportunity to work partly remote exists.
Previous course work in programming languages; such as: Java, C#, HTML5, and JavaScript will be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently be enrolled at an accredited university or college
- Pursue a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information System, Business Management, or related field.
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Be able to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer internship with minimum absences.
- Be a senior at time of internship start date.
- Meet legal requirements to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with responsive web design and frameworks that incorporate strong grid principles, such as Bootstrap.
- Experience conducting user research and usability tests that deliver actionable insights for design.
- Ability to code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools.
- Understanding of .NET development, C#, and jQuery is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works on projects and tasks that are pertinent to the needs of the business unit by applying knowledge, experience and/or education.
- Works with other team members to learn and assist with projects relevant to the department and pursuit of degree.
- Assists the team in their day-to-day functions of servicing our clients or internal customers.
- Assisting with special projects as needed.
- Essential functions to be specified at the department level.
- Begins with a new employee orientation and concludes 10 weeks later with a final project retrospective.
