We are seeking a business-oriented, and tech-savvy attorney to join our Legal Department.  Together with Sales, Operations and Contract Management, you will help to drive our sales efforts by supporting the arrangement and negotiation of commercial transactions. The ideal candidate has experience working as in-house counsel or analyzing transactions and contracts. You will join a growing and diverse team of legal professionals who take the business (but not themselves) seriously.

This position can be based out of the Lenexa, KS or Springfield, MO Jack Henry office locations or remotely from any US location. Travel up to 5% to other Jack Henry offices for meetings/trainings or to professional conferences is required. Compensation for this position will be a base salary of $83-120k depending on candidate experience and geographic location, as well as additional bonuses and benefits.


What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Negotiates customer agreements for software and services
  • Prepares, reviews and negotiates various legal instruments and documents, such as contracts, leases, licenses, purchases, real estate, employment, insurance and other agreements.
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.
  • Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations, and advises the company on government regulations, and/or legal rights.
  • May review and advise the company on statutes, decisions, ordinances, and proposed and existing legislation.  
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.


What you’ll need to have:

  • Juris Doctorate degree required and currently admitted to a state bar.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of professional or internship experience within a law firm, a corporate legal department, or related organization.
  • Prior experience drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% to travel to other Jack Henry office locations for meetings, training or to attend a professional conference.
