Engineers in Banking Technical Operations Support work with system and product administrators at financial institutions to assure core banking service are availability and accessibility for bank staff.  Successful support engineers are adept at understanding customer requests regarding moderately to highly complex product behaviors, integrations, and dependencies.  Support Engineers use their understanding and technical data captured to diagnose, research, and respond to the customer request with the help of peers, public or private knowledge sources.  This position can be fulfilled from any Jack Henry & Associates office location or remotely within the United States.  Participation in an after-hours support and on-call rotation is required.

This position will be filled to work Remotely within the United States.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Responding to technical support requests from banking customers verbally or in writing.
  • Advising banking administrators regarding proprietary user interface or product integration configuration items.
  • Guiding Windows application installation or remediating Windows Service performance issues with the help of remote system access applications.
  • Assisting with user access, authentication and authorization to core systems and application hosts using knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Kerberos and IBM i Operating Systems.
  • Troubleshooting network routing and connectivity issues using Windows command line utilities like ping, tracert or test-netconnection.
  • Contributing to the collective JHA support knowledge using the KCS methodology.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience doing network, system, or applications support.
  • Technical experience within a windows environment including application installation, server support, or account management.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% to attend JHA meetings, trainings, and/or professional conferences.

What would be nice for you to have:
  • Experience in IBM i Operating System Administration.
  • Previous professional interaction with Core Banking Products.
  • Background in managed IT services.
  • Professional experience reading and interpreting XML files.
