Jack Henry, a leading provider in technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry; is hiring an Applications Trainer II. This role will join the Digital Education team and will be responsible for designing and delivering software application and service training to customers and employees who are undergoing a product installation and/or conversion, as well as, those who request continuing education.  If you are someone that enjoys travel this role could be for you because the Application Trainer will travel onsite to provide training courses to customers and employees as well as via internet, eLearning, and/or at a Jack Henry location.

This position can be based to work out of any of the following Jack Henry office locations: Cedar Fall, IA, Lenexa, KS, Monett, MO, Springfield, MO but will allow for remote work as needed. 


  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of training experience and/or working in the banking industry.   
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% to perform client training onsite. 


  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication, customer interaction, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience working in the banking industry.
  • Presentation or training experience.
  • Experience in software application training and educational design using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office, internet-based training tools, and tutorial building software.
  • Understanding of adult learning styles and how to meet those styles.
  • Understanding of instructional design software such as Camtasia, Captivate, or equivalent. 


  • Designs and delivers software and service training courses or workshops. Creates, designs, and customizes training materials and procedures for each customer situation, and may consult with the customer for appropriate customization.
  • Arranges and/or prepares selected training materials (binders, handouts, class files, presentation materials, visuals, software CDs, exercises, etc.) for use during live and web-based training sessions. 
  • Creates reusable eLearning or internet-based training sessions.
  • May arrange the training environment (scheduling of rooms and computers for use, location, and length of training, attendee list, etc.)
  • Tests and maintains software for training purposes.
  • Provides customer follow-up on any questions asked during training that required post-training research. Ensures all questions are answered timely and thoroughly.
  • Makes changes to training materials based on customer feedback and needs assessment. Assesses the quality of training formats and/or procedures.
  • Seeks increased knowledge of features and functions of products and services. Increases knowledge of current training techniques and practices. Keeps current on product changes and upgrades. 
  • May troubleshoot and debug issues prior to, during, and after installations.
  • Prioritizes tasks and documents problems.
  • Keeps informed of most recent industry trends. 
  • May participate in user conferences.
  • May support or train less experienced peers.
  • Expected to travel when needed to customer location and conduct training. 
  • Expected to travel when needed to provide educational assistance during Live projects at the customer's location.
