An advanced technical writer, under general supervision, plans, writes, and edits multimedia and web-based publications. Products created include, but are not limited to, annual release/enhancement documentation, product support manuals, product training manuals, installation manuals, help documents, and tutorials in support of customer or internal organizations.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Researching technical information and converting it into manuals and web-based documents for non-technical and technical users
  • Writing and maintaining XML files using the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) specification
  • Collaborating with engineers, product managers, quality assurance staff, and UX designers
  • Managing multiple projects, providing status updates, and tenaciously following through with busy or unresponsive subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.  

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a credit union, bank, or other financial services setting; or
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing or a related field

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Experience working with or using Episys
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, or a related major
  • Familiarity with the principles of minimalism or topic-based writing
  • Strong communication skills
