Jack Henry & Associates is seeking to hire a motivated and talented Product Designer to join the iPay team!  Under general supervision, the Product Designer is a creative force with a primary focus on understanding the users’ needs and transforming that understanding into user-focused and intuitive products, interfaces, and platforms for the web.  Designs and implements technologies that enhance the end-user experience, usability of products, processes, and systems for customers.

The iPay Development department focuses on architecture, innovation and strategic products development to meet our customer needs. Candidates will be joining a small team of web designers and developers who are dispersed between Elizabethtown and Louisville offices. This position can be hired in Elizabethtown, KY or Louisville, KY. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of user experience (UX) design experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with responsive web design and frameworks that incorporate strong grid principles, such as Bootstrap. 
  • Experience conducting user research and usability tests that deliver actionable insights for design.
  • Ability to code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 
  • Understanding of .net development, C#, and jQuery a plus.
  • Experience leveraging tools and techniques (Adobe/Google Analytics) and heat mapping to derive insights and guidance on prospective enhancements to the user experience.
  • Proven well-designed examples of responsive grid-based layouts. Strong work portfolio that demonstrates systematic and creative design thinking as well as a deep understanding of UI/UX best practices.
  • Strong ability to recognize and predict use cases and user interaction, including happy path as well as edge and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs.
  • Deep understanding of information design/architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.  Works on moderately complex and diverse projects.  Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe XD, Sketch or Invision.
  • Experience with wireframe, workflow, and information architecture design.
  • Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, a sensitivity to typography, color, layout, and a general awareness of materials/textures.
  • Strong understanding and experience in defining and governing design standards, patterns, and frameworks that ensure consistency across websites and efficiencies in product development.
  • Experience in working with a cross-functional team or large-scale software development lifecycle, including agile framework.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Strong problem solving, logical thinking, and quantitative skills.
  • Able to balance business and user benefit with implementation complexity. 
  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborates and communicates as a great team player on a high frequency with product owners, development, and other business stakeholders to convert business goals into UX/UI business requirements by leveraging user-centered design philosophy and agile framework.
  • Conducts user research to understand how to create a superior user experience and creates wireframes to get feedback on needed adjustments. Research includes surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other methods.
  • Converts wireframes into high-fidelity and attractive UI designs.
  • Arranges and conducts usability tests with internal and external customers to identify points of friction and modifies the UI/UX as needed before handoff to development.
  • Validates ideas and designs using test split A/B tests and product usability performance. Ability to code and track A/B test through a testing lifecycle.
  • Creates coded front-end prototypes using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript for handoff to development. 
  • Documents journey maps, user scenarios, personas, workflows, and designs.
  • Pairs up with developers early in the design process to ensure technical feasibility and ideal implementation of UI/UX design.
  • Maintains a standard design system and components to ensure it stays current to ensure design consistency and product development efficiencies.
  • Remains current on user interface design trends and programming techniques and suggest new tools and methods as necessary.  
  • Plans and implements standards for design concept and implementation. May evaluate technologies against industry standards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provides guidance on design of products while keeping in mind dependencies and integrations with other products across the enterprise.
  • Contributes to formulation and execution of the team’s ongoing design strategy.
  • Fosters a positive work culture via all interactions.
  • Possible travel a couple times a year for education conferences.
