We are looking to hire an experienced accountant to provide accounting ownership of assigned product group as part of our Revenue Contract Accounting team. This role will be the dedicated accounting owner for the assigned lines of revenue. In collaboration with the technical revenue experts and billing teams, a successful candidate will have strong initiative to take full responsibility for financial statement accuracy of their assigned product group. 

This position can be based out of one of our SW Missouri offices, our Lenexa, KS office, Allen, TX office or remotely throughout the U.S.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Accounting advisor for assigned product group to revenue systems and contract billing teams.
  • Prepare financial summary for senior leadership for assigned product group.
  • Works closely with accounting managers to develop pertinent reports and/or analysis that will aid in managerial decision making.
  • Prepare revenue account analysis and reconciliations
  • Prepare balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations
  • Performs monthly forecasts for revenue accounts and provide explanations to leadership for forecast-to-actual variances.
  • Identifying and driving record-to-report lifecycle process enhancements and automations.
  • Ad hoc projects related to assigned line of revenue
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from other teams within Jack Henry and Associates and external auditors.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
 

What you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.

What would be nice for you to have:
  • MBA and/or CPA or other related professional certification desired. 
  • Accounting experience in software revenue recognition.
  • Ability to bring creativity, “Think outside of the box” attitude to the position while at the same time providing consistent, accurate financial analysis. 
  • Knowledge of or experience with Peoplesoft, RevPro, Blackline, OneStream Power BI, Tableau.
  • Effectively plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Possess strong business acumen and desire to strengthen knowledge of the business/industry.
  • Ability to make recommendations in order to improve efficiency of processes and procedures.
