Description & Requirements

Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry, is hiring an Accountant to join the Treasury Services team within Accounting, Finance & Procurement. The Treasury Services team performs daily reconciliations of multiple high-volume bank accounts containing the settlement transactions associated with our various payment products.  

This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to efficiently work with large amounts of transaction data across multiple sources. Successful team members are able to multi-task and work with associates in other departments in order to resolve reconciling items and identify system issues. They have excellent excel skills and learn systems easily.  They have an in-depth understanding of various payment types and the US banking system. This position will be based to work out of the Jack Henry offices in Springfield or Monett, MO.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or banking operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% for meetings at other Jack Henry office locations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • Professional certifications: CTP, AAP, APRP.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, budgets) according to generally accepted accounting procedures.
  • Performs financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial position.
  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • Performs general ledger coding.
  • Assists other departments, vendors, and customers in resolving accounting issues by doing research, determining the best approach to resolution, and communicating results.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to assist other team members with daily questions and issues.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • May provide work direction, technical assistance, and answer questions for less experienced accounting staff.
  • Coordinates and assists in annual budget process, including training and reporting.
  • Reviews month-end allocation and prepaid expense entries.
  • May assist in monthly forecasting processes.
