Our growing Financial Reporting Team is hiring an accountant. This individual will join a team responsible for Jack Henry’s SEC compliance and reporting, payroll and benefits reconciliation, and shares-based compensation. This individual will assist with communication to internal stakeholders including C-level leaders, corporate boards, in-house legal counsel, and Human Resources. Communication skills, research abilities, confidentiality, and professionalism are of the utmost importance. 
      
This position can be based to work out of the Springfield, MO, Monett, MO, or Lenexa, KS offices. Upon completion of the initial training period, this role can be worked on a hybrid basis with 1-2 days per week in office. 

This is an hourly position with an hourly rate of $20-30/hr, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you’ll be responsible for:
  • Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) according to generally accepted accounting procedures.
  • Prepares communication to internal stakeholders of all levels on reporting, compliance, and shares-based compensation.
  • Performs financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial position.
  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • Performs general ledger coding.
  • Assists other departments, vendors, and customers in resolving accounting issues by doing research, determining the best approach to resolution, and communicating results.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to assist other team members with daily questions and issues.
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
  • Must have a minimum of 18 months of combined professional and/or internship experience in an accounting, finance, billing, or compliance department.
  • Experience or knowledge of account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% to meetings at other JH office locations.
What would be nice for you to have:
  • Experience with corporate communications.
  • Experience liaising with C-level individuals, corporate boards, and legal departments.
  • Experience with contracts.
  • Pivot table, xLookup, and/or vLookup experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
